Hotels FAQ » Hotel Accommodation » passenger fleecing & bumpoff – United Airlines/ Air India code shared flight
Question:
–No advice I’m afraid, just to say that this isn’t the first and certainly won’t be the last case we have heard about of people on codeshare flights being caught in the middle with the two airlines concerned both claiming that the other airline is responsible. This is one of the down-sides of code-sharing. –==++AJC++==–

There were seven hours between my reaching New Delhi from Calcutta and for the AI/UA flight to take off. I had called AI/UA from Bombay and told them of my situation, and was advised to proceed to New Delhi. When we reached New Delhi, the AI and UA staff promised us that we would be put on the flight on the 8th evening. When we reported for check-in that evening, as advised, we were told that because of overbooking, our tickets won
