Question:

Hi, the Botel is in the neighborhood too…and is like ** or ***… the Victoria is beautiful but XXXtra expensive. in the * star range there are some little places on raadhuistraat just off dam square that are listed in Let’s Go….I stayed at the Hotel Ronnie as a college student on a senior year christmas trip…and it was ok but for an Adult senior those stairs were challenging to say the least. the Hotel Nicholas(sp?) is a pretty neat looking place at 1a Spuistraat… they have a neat looking building, a neat webpage, but I’ve never managed to book a room… which reminds me I need to try and reserve for the spring… ttyl akia – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I will be in Amsterdam only for a night, and need to catch up a train > at 6am. Thanks to every one who posted replies. I booked a room at hotel Sint Niccolas near the station for 240 gilders. There were some other positive reviews of the hotel on this group as well, so I decided to go ahead and book it. Thanks again! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Hi, > the Botel is in the neighborhood too…and is like ** or ***… the > Victoria is beautiful but XXXtra expensive. > in the * star range there are some little places on raadhuistraat just off > dam square that are listed in Let’s Go….I stayed at the Hotel Ronnie as > a college student on a senior year christmas trip…and it was ok but for > an Adult senior those stairs were challenging to say the least. > the Hotel Nicholas(sp?) is a pretty neat looking place at 1a Spuistraat… > they have a neat looking building, a neat webpage, but I’ve never managed > to book a room… which reminds me I need to try and reserve for the > spring… > ttyl > akia > I will be in Amsterdam only for a night, and need to catch up a train > at 6am. A few weeks ago we stayed at the Avenue Hotel, which was a 3-5 minute walk from the Central train station. Can’t remember exactly what street (er, avenue?) it’s on offhand, but it’s close. Fairly new, but a bit on the bland side. Amazing breakfast buffet, though, best I’ve ever had in Europe. Our room was 260NLG/night, if I remember correctly.
