Question:

Hello, >We would like to know the accommodation prices (nothing fancy at all – >just a room)

I suggest that you try out the Pagoda Hotel at Rycroft St. They have rooms that accomodate four people and is furnished with a microwave oven, stove and refrigerator. The location is quite convinient since it is two blocks away from Hawaii largest mall the ala Moana. Transportation is also Ok, since one of the main bus terminals is in the Ala Moana mall.    The only drawback is that it is not a beach front hotel (not like the ones you find on Waikiki). The nearest beachfront is a good 10 minutes walk at the Ala Moana park.     The hotel is rather busy, since it caters mostly to convention people and travel groups like you. I had good luck with the Aston Island Colony, a high-rise about four blocks from the beach.  It was a class B or C, definitely, having had its heyday some 20 years or so ago, it appeared.  Perfectly good and no real problems, though.  Best thing about those properties is that if you’re an Entertainment member, you can book pretty easily off season for half-price, which in my case got a $37.50 rate.  Continental OnePass half-off awards also were honored by them. A group of students will be going on an academic field trip to Hawaii around the last week of March 1996. We would like to know the accommodation prices (nothing fancy at all – just a room), hiring a mini-van costs, some hikes, worthwhile geological features, etc…. We plan to be in Hawaii for about a week. Thanks for any help offered and please send me an email reply. regards, Nelson —          //////         //////          ___ / Hello! | Nelson Sandhu | Department of Geography, Hong Kong Baptist University |
