Question:

Can anyone help us with some clean double accommodation in Milan for Early October2000. Close to the main railway station.

Response:

Following Rick Steve’s recommendation, my wife and stayed at the "Best" Hotel. It was ok. As Rick Steves indicated, there are a few old prostitutes in the area. Ask for a "tranquillo" (we didn’t, and it was noisy. The staff was friendly, though the area doesn’t have much to recommend it other than a street market on Sunday. I’m not sure why you want to stay around the train station. Milan has a good subway system, so you can get to the center of town fairly easily from the train station, and there is a bus to the airport from the center of town as well as from the train station. (I didn’t know about the bus from the center, and that is why we stayed near the train station, but I wouldn’t stay there again.) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Can anyone help us with some clean double accommodation in Milan for Early > October2000. Hi I post from Italy forget cheap accomodation in Milan, it doesn’t exists at all! Along with Tokyo and London it’s between the most expensive towns in the planet.. During October, anyway, the situation is worsening because there are the Fashion Weeks with a lot of people from all over the world who fill up any kind of accomodation booking them well in advance. Better you never stay overnight in Milan or better try to find an accomodation in a nearby city as Genova and the coast, then get to Milan in just one and half hour of train (IC). ciao j
