Yes, this sounds like the most reasonable thing to do. I was not aware that there was that much available accommodation in that area. But being that close to a rail station I should have guessed. Thanks for your reply. -Kevin

Hi, My girlfriend & I will be in London for a couple of days in early June. Mid-week. We will be flying into Gatwick via Shannon, Ireland. For the first nite I’m looking for a reasonably priced B&B or Hotel fairly close to Gatwick. Preferably someplace close to a nice pub or restaurant. Does anybody have any suggestions? For the second evening we would like to find something relatively close to Victoria Station. I know this could be quite expensive at that time of year. But it looks like this would be perhaps the most convenient area because we have to get back to Gatwick the following day to fly back home to the States. Can someone recommend a Hotel around Victoria? Any help is greatly appreciated! -Kevin

There are scads of B&Bs within 15 minutes walk of Victoria Station. If you wish to use the Tourist Office to locate a clean safe place, they have an office in the Victoria Station. They have been very helpful to us in the past. If you wish to seach for one on your own, I’ve listed several within a few blocks of the station. I am sure the prices have risen since I originally prepared the list, so I recommend you look at www.LondonTown for updated info. Good luck I am sure you will find something you like http://www.LondonTown.com/index.phtml On our trips to England we usually arrive in london with no English money or hotel reservations We carry a debit card (in order to avoid credit card fees) and get
