Where are you going? Most hostels in Switzerland are clean, and moderate in price. Some (like Balmer’s) offer a bit more, like a party.

The Jugendherberge in Zurich is a bit pricey 30 SFR the last time I checked but its clean, hot showers galore, and a nice Cafeteria with a cheap evening meal.
