Hi, I have one question. I’m going to Melbourne next week. Is it needed to make hotel (hostel) reservation before arriving. I mean, will there be problems with finding any place to stay. Thanks and regards Jarek

I wouldn’t anticipate big problems if it’s next week, but you may want to consider booking if you have a particular place in mind. The tourist industry is at a bit of a lull at the moment due to the Ansett situation (and probably to a lesser extent, the USA situation), and the Spring Racing Carnival hasn’t quite hotted up yet.
