Hotels FAQ » Hostel » Hostels in Istanbul?
Question:
Hi! I will travel to Istanbul this summer (July) for a week or two. I’m trying to find an inexpensive accomodation for 2-4 persons. I would prefer Taksim area since it is in the middle of everything. Sultanahmet or Sirkeci could be as well. I am interested in staying in hostel. Does anyone have any experiences about hostels in Istanbul? I’ve already looked at different hotel sites, but the inexpensive ones are mostly in Sultanahmet or Laleli area and they are not that cheap, mostly starting from $50-$60 / douple room. I used to live in Istanbul in 1995 and visited many times after but I know nothing about hotels nor hostels since I have always stayed wether in a rental flat or my friends’ places. This time we will be 4 persons and I don’t want to bother my local friends. I would appreciate any stories about hostels, or cheap Taksim hotels. I miss that beautiful city and am looking forward seeing, smelling and hearing it again! Katja
