Hotels FAQ » Hostel » Help: Sydney – Place to stay
Question:
I decided to trek over and catch part of the Olympics. Only prob is that every hotel I can find seems to be booked (i haven’t tried Hilton, etc). Anyone know of cheap accomodations? Doesn’t have to be "hostel cheap", just not Ritz. Thanks. T

The local press is reporting availability. But it’s still a bit of work to locate them. Also, it’s in a state of flux. Lets just say that you won’t have to sleep on the streets if you do come. Come over and bring plenty of coins for phone calls. The Airport’s tourist help desk would be able to direct you in the right direction. You may need to be prepared to stay a little out of the way from the city centre. Good luck! — Weiyun [Remove the obvious for email replies]

When I went to Sydney I booked a room at the hotel info desk at the airport. A room in a brand new 3* cost me AU$ 99 and they were very helpful.you may be able to call them from here if you can find the #. Pete
