There’s a brilliant one straight downtown (so much as Canberra has a downtown) – it’s City something or other, but somehow this doesn’t ring a bell (I can look it up if need be). It’s in a high-rise building and is now around a year old. Spotlessly clean, quiet, even a respectable swimming pool and sauna as well as games room and quite a good bar. Not the cheapest hostel I’ve ever stayed at ($20 or $22 for a dorm) but one of the best.
