Question:

Hi, Does anyone know of ”cheapish” accommodation in Sydney (near to airport)?. We (Hubby,me and two boys 11 & 9) will be arriving in Sydney for a few days then hopefully buying a car then driving to Coff’s Harbour where we will start off our new lives. We don’t know anyone and have never been to Sydney so if anyone has got any web-sites for accomadation or car sales we would appriciate if you could e-mail them to me. Thanks Sue (from St Austell Cornwall) — Posted via http://britishexpats.com

Gee you’re brave. Hope you like it. Try doing a search at http://www.sydney.citysearch.com.au/section/visitor-guide/ (see the Find Accomodation on the left hand side) Daniel — Daniel Bowen, Melbourne, Australia dbowen at custard dot net dot au

remember that the pound is worth $3 here, so anything is relatively cheap! perhaps someone like coogee would be ideal as it’s close to airport and on the beach. utilise www.australia.com for accomm recommendations. cheers. david

I wouldn’t bother being near the airport – it is in an uninspiring industrial area.  Sydney is only 10-20 minutes away depending on time of day & means of transport so I’d head for a central or beachside suburb – even North of the Bridge could be nice (I’m a Manly fan, personally)  - Somewhere you can wake up, smell the sea & wander to a cafe for breakfast. Good Luck Vicki

You can pre book accommodation at Sydney youth hostel on the Internet if you below to YHA. We had 6 beds and an en-suite bathroom – v clean and v central. The bus stopped nearly outside. Good luck. — Carole
