Hotel alla Salute. Stayed there last year in May. About USD125 a night for double w/bath. Great location (near Accademia and Salute), on a quiet resdential canal. The place was charming but not overly so. Room was small but comfortable and clean, and overlooked a small courtyard/garden. English spoken. Breakfast sucked but otherwise we really liked it. -Doug

Pensione Accademia , a 3 Star is in the Accademia area across the grand canal from Marks Square. Recommended in Travel and Leisure as a lower price old Russian Palace. Said has spick and span rooms, well run, near arts, and away

Just log on to www.angel-int.co.uk/html/ukint.htm and leave your details on the booking form and we’ll come back to with our findings. Then we’ll book your choice for you with your permission. FREE. Hotel Abbazia, Calle Priulli 68 It is very close to the train station, you do not have to get a water taxi when you arrive, which helps when lugging your bags. It is an old monastery so that adds something to the place, but the rooms were huge and we paid about 120 a night in august. Thank you and have a nice day.

We stayed at the Rialto and enjoyed the convenience and view. Hotel was clean and well decorated though not to my taste. Staff was very good about sightseeing tips probably the nicest we have encountered. Hotel was full when we were there in early November.
