Question:

I’m staying at the Grand Bahama beach resort in Freeport in July.  This will be my first trip to Bahamas and I want to have a good time.  Has anyone stayed there?  Any suggestions to make this a memorable occasion.  I hope to be able to snorkel while there.  Is this possible?

Hey there, i just got back from freeport……i am very jealous of you!!!!!! *grin* i didnt stay at a resort, we stayed at a fairly cheap hotel and spent all of our days and nights in port lucaya. i saw your resort tho’, looks gorgeous. but you will have to try and avoid that "resort mentality" and really get into the local food/fun/culture!! we went snorkling at the place right behind the Port Lucaya Marina sign.. it was so amazing. At night we stayed in port lucaya until all hours hopping from bar to bar, 2 for $5 coronas everywhere. or try my new favourite beer KALIK. be sure to eat conch…. and listen to the rumours about what it does to ya…. hehehe. my best advice is sleep as little as possible so you can pack fun into every second!!!! dont waste the day or the nights!! and everyone is soooo nice you wont even believe it.
