Hotels FAQ » Cheap Hotel » early flight from Rome = hotel?
Question:
I have a 7 am flight to the US from Fiumicino in Rome. The airline says I have to be there two ours early — 5 am, ugh! Can I sleep at the airport, get a cheap hotel near the airport, or should I really keep my room in Rome for that night?
Response:

good advice — why waste a last night in Rome for some dump by the airport. And THOUSANDS of tourists every year have to get from Rome to the airport early — this is routine stuff for hotels and they routinely arrange early morning cars. Just be sure to arrange the car the day before. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> — > Traveling with Ed & Julie: http://TWEnJ.com > Trip Planning: Tips, Tools and Resources > Rome . I can only say what I do in similar situations: get a cheap hotel near the airport. This is an awful way to end your trip, but imagine getting up at 3 to get to the airport! Oh yuck.
