Anyone flown them long distance eg: London to Australia? Thanks, Vicki

747s were reported by a UK consumer magazine to have one of the roomiest seat pitches (34") in economy. Service used to be good and may still be though I suspect that the financial pressure they are under may be leading to cost cutting. replace royaumeuni with the abbreviation of the U_nited K_ingdom of England, Scotland, Wales & N. I flew with them about a year ago and I had no problems. I do remember that the seats were quite roomy. The service was great and I DIDN’T LOSE my bags. Not that I ever have. — Chris.

I’ve flown them several times, Australia – Japan – Europe I found the service fine, the problem is being involved in any air activity for 20+ hours! Always on time… If you can, fly via KIX (Osaka) and get an overnight at the airport hotel – sure breaks the trip and you get to sleep in a real bed rather than an aluminium tunnel with 200 of your closest friends. Also if you’re departing from Kyoto/Osaka/Tokyo use the city checkin. Saves lugging bags around all day, if you’re on an evening flight. We’re going in August with Japan Airlines via Osaka. I’m looking forward to being overnight in Japan. Any other comments would be grateful. Any ideas on how to keep two 11 year olds occupied would also be gratefully received. What’s the food like? Is there any leg room for six footers? etc Fiona – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->I’ve flown them several times, >Australia – Japan – Europe >I found the service fine, the problem is being involved in any air >activity for 20+ hours! >Always on time… >If you can, fly via KIX (Osaka) and get an overnight at the airport >hotel – sure breaks the trip and you get to sleep in a real bed rather >than an aluminium tunnel with 200 of your closest friends. >Also if you’re departing from Kyoto/Osaka/Tokyo use the city checkin. >Saves lugging bags around all day, if you’re on an evening flight. >JC > Anyone flown them long distance eg: London to Australia? > Thanks, > Vicki >– >John Couani >Arts IT Unit >The University of Sydney >NSW 2006 >Tel (61 2) 9351 7777 >Fax (61 2) 9351 5575

More than on most other airlines, esp.. your national one. replace royaumeuni with the abbreviation of the U_nited K_ingdom of England, Scotland, Wales & N. Ireland to reply

I’ve lost the start of this thread, so excuse me if I’m repeating or missing the point. Singapore Airlines (SIA) has equipped pretty much all their planes (AFAIK) with what can be described as personal entertainment consoles. You get your own TV screen, gobs of channels, and the best is about 10+ Nintendo games to choose from! I’ll have to confess that I fly them a lot for that perk. It’s nice to be able to keep myself occupied *when* I need to be occupied. I’m usually sleepy during inflight movies and wide awake when there’s nothing! delph author of the Paris Transport FAQ http://www.jura.uni-sb.de/~threich/paris.faq.htm
