Question:

>You can go to the top of the airport hotel & for $8.00 use their pool & >Jacuzzi for the day

What is the name of the hotel?  We have guests who will be cruising with us for our wedding cruise next May, and although we are staying over to spend an additional week in Florida after the cruise, most of them will be taking a flight out of Ft. Lauderdale that doesn’t depart until 7 p.m. (although they are cruising in and out of Miami).  I am trying to figure out what they can do all day with their luggage and how to best pass the time.  This sounds like an option.  Any additional info would be welcome. Jo-Ann

Hi Jo-Ann, The name of the hotel at the Miami Airport is (drum roll <:+)), The Miami International Airport Hotel.  You can find out all about it at: http://www.miahotel.com/ I need to warn anyone considering staying there.  Be careful of your room selection.  Some of the rooms make the tiniest cabins on the Norway look large.   Don’t ask me how I know.  <:+( Best regards, Ray LIGHTHOUSE TRAVEL 800-719-9917 or 805-566-3905 http://www.lighthousetravel.com

I just went and checked the rates, and for double occupancy, it is $95.00/day to use their facilities from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bring a good book and go and try some Cuban coffee. It’s yummy. Very strong but so low in caffeine (as are espresso, cappuccino and latte) you can sleep like a baby on the way home. We arrived back in Miami just a couple of weeks ago from our Triumph cruise.  We docked around 6:00 a.m. and were off the ship between 10:00-10:30 am.  Plenty of time for our 2:15 flight back to Toronto Canada. There were so many taxis at the port, we were at the airport by 11:00 a.m. Will you have a long layover at Miami Airport?  Probably.
