Suggestions as to what to do when you are dumped at MEL from the Emirates flight at 0100. Transport into town or Airport Hotel? Need to get up to North Victoria, to Cobram. Thanks, JO

Probably not much good to you now. Stick with an airport hotel. It’s only 15-20 minutes into via freeway but there’s not much to do at 1AM (unless it’s the weekend). Have a nice one. Broomer

If you’re talking about the Hilton, they tried to gouge the living crap out of people last September, in the wake of the Ansett and international transport mess. Skybus into the city runs hourly through the night, alternatively a taxi ride would set you back about $30. So don’t feel limited to the airport hotel. Especially if you’re catching the train to Cobram the next day… you might as well try one of the hotels near Spencer Street Station. Stay at Airport Centra (assuming it hasn’t been rebranded. 20m from terminal exit.
