No, there are no cheap hotels on the airport. But remember: a train from Amsterdam Central Station to Schiphol airport takes only 20 minutes and runs night and day. Sjoerd

In the fall of 1997 I spent the night at the Ibis near the airport.  The rate was about $70 which incl. tax but not breakfast.  They have a shuttle.  They’re reservable on the web at http://www.accor.com . — Note:  Substitute pdgraham in the obvious spot to fix my e-mail address…GG – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->     Yes, and I forgot: do you know an inexpensive (or not too expensive) > hotel in the airport area? > Thanks > david

There are many inexpensive hotels in Amsterdam. I stayed at the Van Onna, which was only $35 a night for a single. No TV, but I had my own bathroom and breakfast was quite good. It’s also in the Jordaan District, away from much of the tourist stuff. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> — > Note:  Substitute pdgraham in the obvious spot to fix my e-mail > address…GG >     Yes, and I forgot: do you know an inexpensive (or not too expensive) > hotel in the airport area? > Thanks > david
